Seven months!! We’re on the downward spiral to 1 year old! I laugh when I say that. But, really, I can’t believe we’re already at 7 months. You continue to grow and change everyday, and you’re really starting to become your own person.
Last month was a big one as far as action for you. We had your official 6-month photos taken on Grammie & Grandpie’s farm, and you were such a little trooper and a ham in front of the camera. Dally and LaMesa even got into the photos a couple of times, which makes my heart swell.
We took you to the Indiana State Fair, where you got to see so many cool things, and even rode the carousel with momma for the first time. You weren’t too sure when the carousel started moving and the horse was going higher and higher, so I held you through the ride, and you were OK with that.
You’ve been sitting in high chairs when we go to restaurants, and you like it so much better. Because of that, we’re starting to let you try to feed yourself and work on picking up things with your fingers. It takes you a while, but you’re getting the hang of it. Meanwhile, you have fun making a big mess.
Eating-wise, you’re still doing well. We’ve been trying so many new foods, and you haven’t really had a problem with any of them.
We also ran in our first 5K together in August! Momma pushed you in your stroller for the Colts 5K in downtown Indianapolis. You handled everything so well, and we finished in around 31 minutes, which is a great time! While we waited for your Uncle Jerry and daddy to finish, we took photos, fed you a bottle, and even had to change your diaper in the end zone of Lucas Oil Stadium–how many babies can say that? 😉
Just last week we took you on your first long car ride (longer than 3.5 hours) as we traveled to Savannah, Ga., for mommy’s cousin’s wedding. We took two days to drive out there and two days to drive back, staying in hotels along the way. You handled everything so well. There were times you hated being in your car seat, because you had been in it for so long, so I can understand. And when we’d put you to sleep in your pack and play, you slept so well for everything going on. I took you to Tybee Island, where we traveled up the lighthouse (such a great workout for mommy, haha) and you got to see the ocean and the beach for the first time! There were storms and rain in the area, so we couldn’t stay long, but you were able feel the sand, have the waves crash against your little chubby legs, and watch the seagulls flying around. I know your daddy wished he could have been there, but we know we’ll return sometime soon.
You’re recognizing important people in your life, and smile whenever you see them. You haven’t said any real words, yet, but when you’re crying for me it’s like you say “Mim” instead of “mom”, which is cute. You’ve really started rolling around now–remember when I said that after your 4-month birthday you rolled once and that was it? Well now you roll over all of the time. You love your Zippy for sleeping, which makes us happy.
No teeth, yet, but you’re back to slobbering and sucking on things a lot, so time will tell.
I love your little hugs you give me all the time, your laughs and giggles. You’ve figured out how to fake coughs and sneezes because you know you’ll get a reaction. Your personality is growing more and more.
Love you, baby girl!
